Merseysides love affair with the Titan didn't start with the ex London examples. BCK706R was taken on extended hire in the 70s and gained full MPTE livery. It recieved fleet number 0029 for its stay. Here it is seen whilst still to dual door configuration. At some point during its stay on Merseyside it was converted to single door although wheather Leyland did this or Hodge Lane works is unknown. MPTE cancelled their Titan orders when the Park Royal factory ran into difficulty and continued to buy Atlanteans.

From Me at 2007-09-01 23:50:40 : Painted at Seaview Road, dedoored at Laird ST
From Mutly at 2008-03-15 02:23:05 : Excellent picture!, i remember this beast well, the picture is infact a very rare view, as she was only in this condition for two days , then she went into the bodyshop at SEAVIEW ROAD, not Laird street, to be converted to single door by MPTE using parts supplied by Leyland, i can confirm this by clearly remember her being in the bodyshop there for nearly a month, because some original panels supplied by Leyland were damaged and Leyland took Two weeks to replace them, i used to go downthere every Sunday whilst the work was being carried out, and the Foreman at the time kept me informed on the progress of the work at the time that was being done on the Titan and Metroscania 4001, which shared the bodyshop at the time (Although the Metroscania was overhauled at Seaview Rd, it was taken to Edge Lane for Painting)
